Because being told (again) to skip your daily craving for fancy coffee (again) isn’t the financial advice you need to build wealth.

Growing up with modest means, I know all too well what it’s like to live without financial security.

My family’s financial reality was not unlike what so many still experience every day. We lived paycheck to paycheck while my father worked two jobs and my mother stayed at home to care for me and my sister.

From an early age, I picked up odd jobs to provide extra income for the family. Needless to say, splurging on a $7 specialty coffee was, quite frankly, never an option.

The journey to changing my family’s financial path – and legacy – started when I became a first-generation college graduate.

Even so, true financial change didn’t come from a college degree; it came from a corporate policy to auto enroll all new hires into the company-wide 401K at my first corporate job.

For the first time in my life, I was saving money.

Motivated by the big impact this one small change made on my financial trajectory, I spent the next decade committed to assessing how seemingly insignificant financial decisions – like $50 less at the coffee shop this month could mean $113,000* in retirement – made a significant impact on my bank account.

For the first time in my life, I was building wealth.

On track to be a VP at a Fortune 500 company by my mid-30s, my financial reality was lightyears away from that of my childhood. But personally, I sensed a widening gap between my job and my purpose

In 2020, I made the big decision to pivot away from the corporate world and became an investment advisor. My bigger goal: to provide the education, experience, and emotional support I know my parents needed while raising a family and that I craved as a young adult.

For the first time in my life, I was creating prosperity.

Today, my financial reality is one of abundance and purpose. And I don’t sweat life’s little luxuries – like the $50 for a six-ounce bag of premium Kona coffee beans I enjoyed while on vacation in Hawaii.

Financial Peace of Mind for the Important Things in Life

Even more important than setting my clients up to enjoy life’s little luxuries is providing them with the financial peace of mind that financial security brings.

At the end of the day, life isn’t about money. It’s about relationships with loved ones and the financial peace of mind to enjoy your passions.

For me, it’s spending time with my family – especially my sister and her children. It’s enjoying life with my wife and two rescue pups – Fynn and Kiki. It’s supporting local animal shelters and staying active at my favorite rock climbing gym.Inertia Wealth Management can accelerate your path toward your definition of the abundant life.
